Daniel Cammish has won both Porsche Carrera Cup GB races at Croft, North Yorkshire.
Daniel took his first win of the day, starting from pole position, alongside Josh Webster. He held the lead from the start, under tricky conditions with spitting rain and an early safety car period. Once racing resumed, Daniel began stretching his advantage over the rest of the pack throughout the race.
The second race, held in sunny but windy conditions, was much the same as the first. Daniel started from pole position once again, leading the pack home in the Nationwide/PPG Paint Porsche. Daniel showed great pace throughout the race, catching the back of the grid and passing the back markers before taking the chequered flag for the second time this weekend.
Daniel will surge ahead in the championship standings as he will also score points for his two fastest laps in both races and his two pole positions, ever increasing his advantage over his rivals.
Daniel commented: “What a weekend. Two wins, two poles and two fastest laps - what more could I ask for. It all went very well. I couldn’t have been happier with the car the team gave me this weekend and having such a perfect weekend in front of my home crowd was a great buzz. I’m also pleased to have extended my points advantage going into the summer break too.”
Daniel will now prepare for his debut outing in the Mobil 1 Porsche Supercup at Silverstone next weekend, supporting the Formula One World Championship.
Daniel said: “I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend heading into the Porsche Supercup at Silverstone next weekend. It is the biggest race of my career so far so hopefully I can carry the momentum into the races there.”
The next Porsche Carrera Cup GB round will be at Snetterton, Norfolk after the summer break on 8-9 August. Daniel will head there with a 41-point lead over nearest rival, Josh Webster.
